HotSpot Café used to be one of the party pubs at the Amstel river. In 2014 it had to close down however, because of foundation problems of the building. On the 3rd of March this year HotSpot café will reopen on a different location in town.
Since closing down the original HotSpot Café the owners, Hans van Schaik and Eric Visser, organized a monthly reunion party. The location of these parties was the former Club Stereo, Jonge Roelensteeg 4. Schaik & Visser loved their parties and this location so much that they decide to take it over.
Reopening on the 3rd of March
The new location of Hot Spot Café is very central: close to Dam Square and the main shopping street. They are now refurbishing the place. If all goes according to plan, the HotSpot Café will open on the 3rd of March. Opening times will be from Wednesday till Monday from 4 PM till 1 AM. Expect a small, cosy pub with loads of “old, new & camp videoclips playing”. Eurovision, musicals, Kylie, ABBA, Cher and Madonna will rule here! The bar staff will take requests (for specific music, that is).
We will keep you posted
In the past we thought HotSpot Café was ok. We were however disappointed by Club Stereo. It was an expat club in an alley full of tourist trap coffee shops. But who knows, maybe HotSpot Cafe will bring more fun. In the coming months we will be checking it out and we will be reporting you about it. In the mean time check out their new website.
