Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) highlights in gay clubs

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) electronic music event and club festival in the world. It takes place every year during the month of October. ADE offers parties, workshops and panel discussions. It is a 5 day event from 18th till 22nd of October, where you can totally immerse yourself into everything to do with electronic music. The gay club scene is on of the founding blocks of  the eletronic music industry. And that relation is still going strong today. Several gay clubs are involved in this years’ ADE, with parties in Club Church, Club NYX and The Web.

The Web

Six events are organized in The Web. The Web is developing more and more into a venue where techno parties are organized. So club scene and leather men are mixing like in the old days. All parties this ADE in The Web are free.

Kicking of on the 18th of October is Drum Nation from 10PM till 3AM. It is a ‘meet and greet’ for new and experienced DJs and producers in the LGBTQ community.

Following on the 19th of October between 10PM and 3AM the next morning is a party by the Kingdom In Da House family. Tech House and Techno par excellence presented by a top notch and quality line-up. It’s all about the music, Deep , Tech House & Techno.

On the 20th of October the ladies take over with Women of House at 10PM. Djs, music producers, vocalists, song writers and singers. A unique showcase in Amsterdam with a special performance by violonist Katya Gabeli, Vocalist, signer and song writer Terri B.

This party lasts till 3AM next morning and is immediately followed by La Davina Afterhours on the 21st of October. This new record label is the way forward after the infamous afterhours La Divina Afterhours London that has been going strong for over 4 years, with events in UK, France, Italy, Germany. Label Manager, founder, Thomas Galbardi is no stranger to house music and decided it was time to give something back with his flow of innovative focusing on techno and tech-house beats. This party goes on till 9AM.

After a few hours of rest on the 21st of October, the fourth part (The Sound of NYC) starts at 10PM. Karmic Power Records & SoundGroove Records bring you the sounds of NYC House Music and beyond with a special showcase of talented artists.

Celebration gay club history

And finally on the 22nd of October (6PM till12PM) a special party pays tribute to the history of dance. From the D.O.K. to the A.D.E. the WEB Presents: Our Love is History. An ode to the history of dance floors. The D.O.K. was the famous gay and lesbian club by the COC gay and lesbian liberation organization. Before disco was big, they brought clubbing to Amsterdam. In a way it was the foundation on which ADE was built.

Club NYX

Club NYX is a fixed venue for parties in Amsterdam. It is a LGBTQI club, which is straight friendly. During ADE it hosts five parties and they promise to bring the house down. Entrance fees for the parties are €10,- or €15,- (+€1,- service cost). They are available via the Club NYX website.

ADE kicks off in Club NYX on the 18th of October at 10PM with a Jacking Showcase titled ‘Spacedisco & friends’. They will be showcasing the Crème de la Crème of Internationally acclaimed Jackin House Dj’s & Artists.

The party will go on on the 19th of October with ‘Lady Bee Invites’ from 11PM till 6AM the next morning. For the past 5 years Lady Bee has played to sold out crowds at each and every one of her ADE showcases!  This year she brings her signature sounds of addictive Trap, Moombahton, Dancehall and Bass to a whole new level!  She won’t be doing this alone and invited some of her friends, international Artists, and world renowned DJ’s to share her spotlight.

On the 20th of October at 11PM till 8AM the next morning Vato Gonzalez presents Dirty House. Following 4 consecutive sold-out ADE editions of Dirty House, Vato Gonzalez takes his Dirty House movement to Club NYX, bringing you a big line-up with some of the hottest & freshest names in deep & future house, UK bass & garage, divided over three separate floors.

With ‘Hey Mr DJ!’ on Saturday the 21st of October (again 11PM till 8AM) Club NYX will bring you an ADE line-up with some of the hottest & freshest names in the House scene. This all, divided over three seperate floors.

And finally on Sunday the 22nd of October an ADE Special with Billy’s Wasserette (that is Dutch for Laundrette). Nothing yet announced for this event, but since it is a special… watch this space for more news. It starts at 11PM and lasts till 5AM next morning.

Club Church

Club Church is a club which combines great beats with an exploration of gender and sexuality. The three events during ADE at Club Church honor their take on nightlife. The entrance fee for these events is €7,50 or €12,50. Tickets are sold at the door.

On the 19th of October from 10PM till 7AM it is ‘Blue ADE Kooky Klubbing’. For years, Blue has been the beginners’ party for all who desire the obscurity behind the doors of Club Church. That means, kooky club – come & meet the outrageous hopeless family at Amsterdam’s freakiest dance night. Expect weird acts and wild & eccentric misfits on this special ADE Blue. No dress code but appreciated if you wanna dress up. For people of all genders and sexualities.

On the 20th of October it is a men’s only party with ADE (Z)onderbroek. That means “Sexy tunes for sexy men, drop your pants and dance!”. (Z)onderbroek is a play on words in Dutch: “onderbroek” means underpants and  “zonderbroek” means without pants. The party starts at 10PM and lasts till 7AM next morning.

And finally on the 21st of October it is Hoerenbal (or Hookers Ball) the ADE edition. It’s going to be “The start of the 80’s”. This year’s ADE Hoerenbal edition will surprise you again. Club Church promises gay clubbing at its’ best. Because first of all there were gays, then club music, these two get along like a house on fire. VJ Alex Kaseta and acts by The House of Hopelezz bring on the party atmosphere next to the great music. Unlike the second party at Club Church all genders & sexualities are welcome.
