A few months ago we reported on Club Jack opening up in the Southeast of Amsterdam. On last years’ Amsterdam Pride they presented themselves with a big boat during the Canal Parade. Shortly afterwards they organized a party during the Amsterdam Dance Event. Everything looked promising, but then it became quiet. But recently some snippets of news came from Jack and it seems all signs are on green.
Latest news on Club Jack
On their Facebook page, Instagram page and website they announce that they will be opening in March (deadline missed), this spring (we had a long winter this year) or soon (how soon?). At least apparently things are moving forward enough for the people of Jack to be able to make these predictions.
The Amsterdam Dance scene is looking forward to the opening up of this new club. In March the club received a nomination in the category ‘Best New Initiative’ for the Dutch Dance Awards the ‘Gouden Kabouter’. The concept of an open minded, LGBTQI friendly nightclub with house and techno music by international established and new, upcoming inventive DJ’s hit the right note in the club scene here.
The realization of the plans take longer than planned. But to be honest they took on a big project. An office building had to be totally remodeled to create the atmosphere fitting this new club. In that case a half year of building and breaking is not that long.
