Women Friendly City Award for owner Vivelavie

Mieke Martelhoff, owner of bar Vivelavie, is the first to receive the Women Friendly City award. The award is an initiative of the city of Amsterdam to recognise and thank women who help making the city more women friendly. In awarding Mieke Martelhoff, Amsterdam recognises the many years Mieke has contributed to making Amsterdam a safe and welcome city. Her bar Vivelavie is a safe place for women (and men by the way) to meet and have fun. Mieke has also contributed to making the Rembrandtplein a safe place to go to.

On behalf of all of us at GayLINC: congratulations Mieke!
