In 2011 a total of 564 gay and lesbian related incidents were officially reported to the Amsterdam police. Incidents are related to physical or verbal violence. In 2012 this number increased towards 620. The final number for 2013 is not yet known. An analysis shows that most offenders are between 15 and 25 years. Most incidents happen in the city centre and in areas with gay and lesbian bars.
