What is it?
Art Zuid is an exhibition of modern art in Amsterdam Zuid, so the area around Apollolaan, Minervalaan and the business area of the Amsterdam Zuid train station. The exhibition is organised every two years and was originally initiated by people living in this area.
This year’s Art Zuid is a display of 65 abstract sculptures of post second world war artists, selected by guest curator Rudi Fuchs. This year the exhibition is linked to the 100 Years of De Stijl theme, by showing the influence of De Stijl on contemporary Dutch sculpture.
Where to find it?
There is no real starting point, but you could begin at the crossing of Beethovenstraat and Apollolaan. Then simply follow the art! Much more information via Art Zuid.
If you’re on the Museumplein, you will see a sculpture of well known artist Miquel Barceló.
The fifth edition of the Art Zuid exhibition will take place from 19 May to 17 September 2017.
Anything Gay or Lesbian?
Not really! It’s just such a pleasure to enjoy the beauty of the sculptures in combination with the architecture of Amsterdam Zuid.
