Club Exit temporarily exit

After months of soap opera quality insults, lawsuits, suspicions and paper articles the brewery closed down Club Exit on April 6th 2010. Club Exit is a popular hangout for gay men in the Reguliersdwarsstraat.

ES Collection arrived in Amsterdam

ES Collection opened its first store in Holland on February 19 with an eye catching party. The underwear models on display in the shop's window came to life and were not displays but real life models that showed to an amazed crowd in the street the entire collection. We're not sure what amazed the crowd more: the models or the underwear. And you can see for yourself: Menne Vellinga interviewed the models, and although in Dutch, the body language is international.

Droog design

Located in one of the most charming shopping streets in Amsterdam, this store puts itself on the market as the shop for modern Dutch design.

Saarein

Saarein is located in the Jordaan (Elandsstraat 119), one of the most interesting areas of Amsterdam. It’s a bar with a long history, going back to the 19th century, according to the owners. We know for sure it’s history goes back to 1978 when a group of 10 women founded Saarein as a women-only bar. After a long successful period a change of management led to Saarein as we currently know it: a cosy bar, welcoming to everybody, couples or singles alike. Every third Sunday of the month as of 5 pm Saarein welcomes transgenders.

Who moved my strip card?

The strip card (or strippenkaart in Dutch) was a simple way of paying for public transportation, with the exception of the train. The only difficult thing to remember was the fact that you had to add one strip to the number of zones you were travelling in.The original strip card
