Amsterdam has a wide variety of pubs and clubs for women and men, responding to a broad range of tastes. On the left you find different categories. Over time we will give our own impression of the pubs and clubs listed there. 

General warning

Don't be fooled by the rainbow flag!   

During the Gay Games 1998 the Amsterdam bars and restaurants dicovered the power of the rainbow flag. They put one up and presto: the number of customers increased dramatically as did their revenue. The power of the pink dollar/pound! The flags are in some places still there, but with the passing of the Gay Games, they became straight places again. Of course, many genuine gay businesses still use the flag.
