Unsafe sex

We can't say it enough: Play it safe! In case the condom ripped during the action and you want to get some medical advise you can go to a GP. But we are lucky in Amsterdam to have an excellent clinic that gives free Aids-tests and treat other sexually transmitted diseases: the GG&GD (see below).

Condoms, also the extra strong gay condoms (called Gay Safe), are easily available around Amsterdam. You can get them in drugstores, pharmacies, gay bars (in special condom slut/slot-machines), sex shops, sex saunas, sex cinema's etc.etc. Don't be anal, buy a condom!

Drug- or alcohol problems

Amsterdam is a city full of temptations, such as: men, women, drugs and alcohol. These last two may be so tempting that you or your companion runs into problems. Hospitals will be of help when there are signs of acute poisoning. The other institutions listed will help you to control the addiction.

Rape

Rape is a harrowing experience and we sincerely hope you'll never be the victim of it. If it does happen go to the police. They have a specially trained vice section. A female victim can ask to speak to a female officer. The victim aid organisation has also a special section for rape victims.

Psychological problems

In case of acute psychological problems there is an institution specialised in help for gay men, lesbian women and bisexuals.
