Once every five years Amsterdam hosts the biggest sail event in the Netherlands, called SAIL Amsterdam.

New (!) Bar opens on August 5th in Amsterdam

Just in time, something new in Gay and Lesbian Amsterdam. After a number of closures we can finally announce a new bar. It's located on Reguliersdwarsstraat 45, close to bars such as April, Exit and Havana. Those were the days... But let's not look back in sweet dreams, let's go to Taboo. Not the best of names, we agree. Happy hour daily from 6 pm to 7 pm and from midnight to 1 am. Open all days with even more happy hour on Sunday. Check it out and keep us posted!

July 17th

Amsterdam Pride 2010

On August 1st Amsterdam Pride will start with a lot of events and parties. Highlight on Saturday August 7th will be the Canal Parade through the Amsterdam canals. For an impression see here:

July 6th

Club Cockring closed

Club Cockring in the Warmoesstraat has been closed on July 7th. Two weeks ago during a police raid hard drugs were found and it was established by the police that at least the doormen knew that there were drug dealers in the Cockring. For the maire of Amsterdam this was reason to board up the popular club.

If it will open and when at this moment is not known. But with this closure it is getting very quiet in the gay party scene. Maybe some enterprising persons should open up one or more gay clubs?

Gay and Lesbian Summer Tour 2010

Join the Gay and Lesbian Summer Tour 2010 and enjoy movies like Were The World Mine (although we thought the story line a bit thin and the actors not always convincing), The Topp Twins (two lesbian twins in New Zealand) and An Englishman in New York (with John Hurt as Quentin Crisp).

In total 10 gay and lesbian movies will be shown in 11 Dutch cities during summer. The program can be found on homescreen.nl.
